Te Vaerua is a non-profit organisation based in Rarotonga that provides rehabilitation services in the Cook Islands, focusing on our people in the community.
We use a multidisciplinary team approach and provide the service of the two Physiotherapists, Occupational therapist and a Rehabilitation Assistant. We also have an Administrator, Finance officer and Maintenance man to complete the team.
Te Vaeerua primarily offers a supported discharge hospital service, community-based/home based physio/occupational therapy and carer training/support.
We also offer an equipment loan scheme where a therapist provides an assessment of the individual and issue te appropriate equipment according to need. We employ maintenance person who repairs and services all equipment that we issue.
Te Vaerua provides a physiotherapy clinic four afternoons a week Monday to Thursday for a small fee which is open to the public.
Te Vaerua also works in partnership with Cook Islands Ministry of Health providing our services to inpatients and clients that visit the Hospital. We support other Non-Government Organisations which includes Creative Centre, Are Pa Metua and Autism Cook Islands and other children in the community.
Te Vaerua has been operating for the last nine years in the Hospital and Community and is located in Arorangi next to Island Car and Bike Hire.
The Organisation is managed by the board of directors, exceptional individuals who are passionate about the work that Te Vaerua Provides.
