This guideline provides basic steps and protocols for the management of tuberculosis programmes and services. The aim of the guidelines for tuberculosis are:

  • For a community to reduce the spread of tuberculosis micro-organisms and to hasten the disappearance of this disease from society
  • For individual patients to cure their disease, quickly restore their capacity for daily activities and to preserve their position in their family and community
