Vaccination Roll-Out for 12-15 Year Old’s Concludes in Rarotonga

31 October 2021 (CKT)

Earlier this afternoon the COVID-19 vaccination programme primarily focussed on 12-15 years old on Rarotonga concluded.

Of the 718 12-15-year-olds who have been vaccinated in the last two days, 666 received their second dose and 52 received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccination.

In the 16 years plus category, 194 received their second dose over the weekend and 54 had their first dose.

“These numbers are really encouraging and will lift the percentage of our eligible population who are vaccinated. I’d like to thank all those who have potentially changed their minds towards being vaccinated. All around the world we can see that your chances of getting COVID-19 are considerably reduced if you are vaccinated, and your chances of surviving COVID-19  should you get it are considerably higher if you are vaccinated.”

The Te Marae Ora vaccination team moves to Mangaia tomorrow and will be in Aitutaki on Friday.
