Operation Namu26 Weekly Update 7

We are 19 days into the second 30 days of Operation Namu26. As of Thursday 26 March 2026, again only Rarotonga and Aitutaki recorded positive dengue cases over the last 7 days. Aitutaki last recorded one positive case on Thursday 20 March and Rarotonga still accounting for most of the cases, a total of 15 cases since Friday 21 March 2026. A total of 19 actives cases remain as of Thursday 26 March and no hospital admission for the last three weeks.

Atiu remains with no recorded case for 6 weeks, Mauke with no case for 4 weeks and Mangaia going into the 3rd week with no recorded case.  

Peri-focal spraying and larvae surveillance continues including slashing of overgrown lands and clearance of drainage and streams on Rarotonga continues. The Tutaka Program is set for the 13 – 24 April 2026.

The IMS (Incident Management System) meeting in person and virtually is suspended and updates will be provided by email and TMO media platforms.
