COVID-19: Infected Auckland Airport Worker

A Border worker at Auckland Airport tested positive for COVID-19 which is of interest to Te Marae Ora. According to New Zealand Ministry of Health, the person works as a cleaner at Auckland International Airport, cleaning planes that have flown internationally from countries where COVID-19 is widespread.

There were also three locations relating to the border worker which is of interest:

  • Westfield St Luke’s Food Court, Saturday April 17, 12.15pm to 2.30pm
  • Bunnings New Lynn, Saturday April 17, 2.30pm to 3.50pm
  • Movenpick Dominion Rd, Saturday April 17, 5.15pm to 7.20pm

Border agencies was notified of the situation and precautionary measures was carried out to keep our country safe.

All passengers who arrived on Monday and Tuesday flight have all been tested for COVID-19 and screened for the locations of interest. All test results returned negative and confirmed clear of the three locations identified. A second COVID-19 test will be carried out on day 6 for all passengers.
