Vaccinations

The Te Marae Ora vaccination team were kept incredibly busy over the weekend. Here’s what took place over the weekend:

Friday – 1188; dose 1 (12), dose 2 (8), Dose 3 (168);

Saturday – 811; dose 1 (21); dose 2 (39), dose 3 (751);

Sunday – 1066; dose 1 (10); dose 2 (13); dose 3 (1043)

Because of the high turnout, it has been decided to administer all the third/booster doses on Rarotonga before Christmas.

The last day for anyone wanting to get their third/booster shot, or their second dose, or to start their vaccination process on Rarotonga for this year will be Friday 24 December 2021.

There is no requirement for an appointment if you haven’t made one. However, to qualify for the booster/third shot you must be 18 years of age or older and have had your second dose at least 6 months ago.

Please come to the Social Centre from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm till the 24 December 2021 and bring your passport of birth certificate with you, so that TMO can match these documents up with their COVID-19 vaccination records.in preparation for international travel regulations requiring travellers to prove their COVID-19 vaccination status.

Please get the booster to keep the Cook Islands safe.

Tupapa Primary Care Clinic

Beginning Saturday 25th December (Christmas Day) and for the foreseeable future, any person requiring medical assistance over weekends will need to present themselves to Rarotonga Hospital Emergency Department.

The Tupapa Primary Care Clinic (formerly known as Tupapa Outpatients) will continue to operate from 8am-4pm Monday to Friday (including Public Holidays that fall on weekdays).

Puna Clinics

All Puna Clinics will be closed from today (Friday 17 December) and will reopen on Monday 10 January, this temporary closure will enable Puna staff to assist with the Vaccination roll-out.
